Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 to a report of an aggravated assault with a firearm in the block of 18600 West Wright Road, unincorporated Grayslake.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived and learned the victim is an acquaintance of Gregory Bradshaw, 33, of the 2700 block of Gabriel Avenue, Zion. Bradshaw and the victim were living in the same residence. Bradshaw took the victim’s vehicle from her residence, without her knowledge, and went to a home in the 18600 block of Wright Road, Unincorporated Grayslake. The victim went to the residence in unincorporated Grayslake to retrieve her vehicle and was confronted by Bradshaw. During the confrontation, Bradshaw brandished a pistol and pointed it at the victim. Bradshaw then fled in the victim’s vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies located Bradshaw as he returned to his residence in the 2700 block of Gabriel Avenue. Sheriff’s deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on Bradshaw, but Bradshaw ignored the instructions of sheriff’s deputies and remained non-compliant, barricaded in the vehicle.

Sheriff’s negotiators were requested to respond to the scene. Sheriff’s deputies and sheriff’s negotiators communicated with Bradshaw for nearly two hours. After two hours of communication, he eventually exited the car and was taken into custody without any force being necessary.
