Juan Figer, Real Madrid's 'favourite' football agent, dies aged 86

Veteran football agent Juan Figer has passed away at the age of 86 in Sao Paulo. Figer was ahead of his time in the world of football and oversaw numerous transfers of South American players over to Europe, with his methods seen as the foundation for the last 50 years of the transfer market.

His career as an agent all started with the transfer of Pablo Forlan, father of Diego, from Penarol to Sao Paulo for a fee of 80,000 dollars, but Figer knew that the future would see players making the move to the European continent.

The Uruguayan worked with many clubs around Europe, with Real Madrid the one he did business with the most over the years and he was involved with deals for Ze Roberto, Baptista, Cicinho, Filipe Luis, Savio and Robinho, as well as working on Neymar's move to Barcelona.

His granddaughter Stephanie and son Marcel will continue the Figer legacy - a legacy that will bever be forgotten in the world of football.
