Sabah’s daily Covid cases up again

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s daily new Covid-19 cases rose again to 168 cases, Tuesday, with an increase of 43 compared to 125 on Monday, said Sabah’s official Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.This brings the total in the State to 239,883. Only one death was recorded Tuesday in Kota Kinabalu.

“Many districts are recording new cases, Tuesday, even in relatively small numbers. Eight districts recorded two-digit new cases, namely Kota Kinabalu 21 cases, Penampang 18, Kota Belud 17, Putatan 16, Keningau 12, Ranau 11, Tuaran 11 and Sipitang 10 cases.
“While 14 districts recorded single-digit caseload and five districts did not record any new cases,” Masidi said.
Of the 168 new patients, 162 people are in Category 1 and 2, three in Category 3, two in Category 4 and there are no new patients in Category 5. He said one patient is still in under assessment by the Sabah Health Department.
Masidi said Sabah also recorded 326 Covid-19 patients recovered (including those discharged from hospital/PKRC) making a cumulative total of 232,915 people.

Meanwhile, 655 patients are receiving treatment, namely 361 in hospitals, 292 in the Public Quarantine and Low Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC), and two in Temporary Detention Centers (PTS)/Prison.
He said 35 patients in need of critical care including 33 in ICU/repurposed critical care as well as two in open ward (HDW/acute cubicle) and another 10 people need ventilated breathing aids. Some 16 patients who have not completed their vaccinations are in stages four and five.
