BEAUFORT: The District Branch of Domestic Trade and Consumers’ Affair Ministry (KPDNHEP) has reminded traders to always obey the set rules and laws.

Its Branch Head Julie Julhani said the Ministry will continue to monitor and conduct inspection to ensure the supply of necessities is stable as well as to prevent profiteering.

She said this after the launch of Keluarga Malaysia Sale programme here by Assistant District Officer Joumat Bisnim while the similar programme was launched by District Officer Ak Raimy Pg Abd Rahmat in Sipitang, Saturday.

“The Keluarga Malaysia Sale programme by the Ministry aims to help ease the cost of living of the people, especially the low-income group,” she said.

The programme is held in collaboration with the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (Mafi) and the Finance Ministry.

“The programme is planned to be held twice a month for three months, beginning Dec 4 in 222 Parliamentary constituencies.

It offers various daily necessities 20 per cent cheaper than local market price.

Among the items sold are chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables, cooking oil, sugar, flour, rice and processed goods.
