Tips for Optimizing Your Content and Reaching More People This Holiday Season with Facebook Business Suite

This holiday season, welcome people to your business by making sure your Facebook Page and Instagram account are up to date and engaging with potential customers. During the holiday season, small businesses have an opportunity to reach shoppers where they’re already spending time and discovering products from both new and familiar brands. Wish your customers happy holidays and New Year, promote products that are perfect for gifting and, in general, use this time of year to introduce yourself to new people finding your business for the first time. Creating compelling content is an amazing way to do all of this, along with help from Facebook Business Suite — a free tool and single destination, spanning mobile and desktop1, that lets you manage your business presence across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.

Read on for three tips on developing holiday and New Year’s-ready content, and learn how Facebook Business Suite can help make posting creative content simpler for you along the way.

1
Take time to plan.

The holiday season is inherently a busy time of year, and as a business owner or team member you may be asked to wear a lot of hats during this period, including managing your social media strategy and implementation. One of the best ways to save oneself from last-minute stress is to plan in advance. Take some time to plan your marketing content for the holidays and New Year to save time before a big rush.

Schedule posts and stories and use the Calendar feature in Facebook Business Suite to create fresh batches of posts and stories. You can also cross-post content across Facebook and Instagram, plus edit your post even after it's been scheduled.

Inspiration or the need to get the word out may strike even when you’re on the go, so download the Facebook Business Suite app on iOS or Android to create content and ads no matter where you are.

2
Embrace creativity.

This time of year lends itself to presenting creative and engaging content that lets viewers feel the holiday and New Year's cheer. Take advantage of some of the tools Facebook Business Suite offers to help jumpstart your posts. Then check out the Business Apps section of Facebook Business Suite desktop, which contains tools that can help you level up the design of your posts. Use content templates provided by the apps in the Creative section and consider different formats like videos or GIFs to help bring your posts to life. You may be working with a team to create your company content, so using File Manager2 to manage, organize and share your photo and video files can help keep everyone organized.

Remember to mix it up! Maybe some of your posts are centered squarely around your products and services, while others send well-wishes from your business with striking visuals. While you still want to stay true to your company’s brand guidelines, feel free to play with both your look and feel and tone of voice to fit the season.

3
See what works.

Once you’ve drafted and scheduled different types of holiday content in Facebook Business Suite, monitor the Insights section to understand what people are responding to best. Simply go to the Home screen for a quick, at-a-glance view of how your content is performing. Use these insights to adapt your holiday social media strategy and post content that resonates most with your audience. In Facebook Business Suite desktop, you can even A/B test3 your content to see which post variants perform best in terms of engagement and impressions.

Also, consider boosting the posts and stories that perform particularly well; for as little as $1, you can reach more potential customers. There's a great opportunity to find new customers and expand your audience as you head into the new year.

If you’re not already using Facebook Business Suite, learn more about what it is and how to get started on desktop or on the mobile app on iOS or Android. Then read on for more tips about how to connect with customers and use ads and insights within Facebook Business Suite.
