Police: No Conspicuous Evidence of Crime in Death Investigation at Arlington Park Metra Station Arlington Heights

Firefighter/paramedics and police officers from Arlington Heights Fire Department and Arlington Heights Police Department were dispatched to an area near the Metra train station, 2121 W. Northwest Highway, also known as the Arlington Park Train Station, for a report of an unresponsive man in the grass parkway between Northwest Highway and the north edge of the train platform (Platform 2).




According to information released from the Arlington Heights Police Department Sunday afternoon, responding police officers located a 62-year-old male resident of Chicago who was pronounced dead at the scene. While there were no overt signs of trauma stemming from an accident, nor any significant evidence of injury, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office took custody of the body and will continue the investigation into the cause of death. The preliminary investigation did not identify any threat to the community, nor any conspicuous evidence of a crime having preceded the death. Initially the death is not known to be witnessed.

While the name of the deceased man is known, his identity initially not released pending notification of next of kin.




Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 9:27 a.m. Sunday, December 12,2021 to a report of a man described as an adult male/black, unconscious and not breathing, north of the railroad tracks at the Arlington Park Metra station, 2121 West Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights.

Police and paramedics found a man deceased outside the fence near a yellow maintenance hut near Platform 2 at the Metra Arlington Park train station.

Arlington Heights police and Metra police began a death investigation Sunday morning to collect evidence to rule out foul play and look for any suspicious circumstances.
