India reports 7,774 Covid-19 cases and 306 deaths; active cases decline to 92,281

India reported 7,774 new Covid-19 cases n the last 24 hours taking the country's tally up to 3,46,690,510,while the active cases have declined to 92,281 the health ministry said in an official release on Sunday.

NEW DELHI: India reported 7,774 new Covid-19 cases n the last 24 hours taking the country's tally up to 3,46,690,510,while the active cases have declined to 92,281 the health ministry said in an official release on Sunday.

The death toll climbed to 4,75,434 with 305 fresh fatalities according to the data updated at 8 am.

The active cases comprise 0.27 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 98.36 per cent, the highest since March 2020, the health ministry said.

A decrease of 996 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.65 per cent. It has been less than 2 per cent for last 69 days.

The weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 0.70 per cent. It has been below 1 per cent for the last 28 days, according to the health ministry.
Meanwhile more than 140 crore (1,40,20,73,270) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category, whereas more than 17.93 Cr (17,93,72,576) balance and unutilized Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
Moreover with the administration of 89,56,784 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 132.93 Cr (1,32,93,84,230) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 1,38,52,959 sessions.
