High Winds Bring Power Outages to Arlington Heights: Dunton/Vail, Stratford/Drury, Pioneer Park

Arlington Heights firefighters and paramedics responded about 6:46 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 to multiple reports of a power line on fire with the flames eventually out spontaneously in the block of 1400 North Dunton Avenue in Arlington Heights, Il.

Firefighters requested ComEd to respond the scene. As of 7:30 a.m. the ComEd Power Outage Map did not indicate a power outage near the block of 1400 North Dunton Avenue, but the report was posted about 7:45 a.m.

Firefighters left the scene, reporting all lines were intact with only occasional arcing and that there was a power outage in the area.




A Wind Advisory is in effect from December 11, 03:00 AM CST until December 11, 03:00 PM CST with wind gusts up to 55 MPH forecast. Winds are at peak between 4:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Winds from the west and gusts are forecast to diminish to 22 MPH by 6:00 p.m. with much after gusts in the 40 MPH range before noon and in the 30 MPH range in the afternoon.

Strong gusts began about 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
