NEW DELHI: The first two Vande Bharat trains, which are currently operational from Delhi to Varanasi and Katra, have undergone minor changes. While the faded seats have been replaced with brighter ones, protection guards have been installed to prevent damage of the equipment that are fixed beneath the trains.
Sources said the modifications have been done to keep the trains in good fettle.
To reduce the noise inside the driver cabin, the horns have been shifted to roof location and a software modification has been done to facilitate display of useful and informative messages regarding helpline contact, bio-toilets, customer complaints through means of the LCD screens located inside sitting compartment area.
Officials said shrouds have been provided in underneath of coaches to guard the panels against damage from ballast hitting and thereby ensuring trouble free operation on the line.
"A protective sheath has been provided for shrouding IV coupler and guarding it against damage from ballast hitting," said an official. This will prevent damage to the equipment in cases of cattle overrun.
Moreover, theme based paintings have been mounted on the interior walls of Executive Class coaches, officials said.
