Sources have told E! and Entertainment Tonight more details about how Khloé Kardashian is coping with the latest cheating scandal surrounding Tristan Thompson, her on-and-off boyfriend and father of her daughter True. Thompson is allegedly expecting a baby with the woman he cheated with, Maralee Nichols, who is suing the basketball player for child support and other pregnancy-related fees.
Nichols, in court documents reviewed by People, alleged that she and Thompson conceived a child together in March that is due this month. Thompson confirmed he and Nichols had a physical relationship and “admitted to having sex with the personal trainer on at least one occasion, per the documents,” People wrote.
Thompson and Kardashian’s exact relationship status before the scandal broke last week was unclear. Kardashian hinted she still had some interest in Thompson when she commented fire emojis on a photo he posted of himself three weeks ago. But now, a source told Entertainment Tonight, Kardashian really sees her romance with Thompson as done for good.
“Khloé is kind of gloomy about the news of Tristan’s new [alleged] baby, especially going into the holidays,” the source said. “Khloé is always so positive, but this brought her down a little. She has always been into giving Tristan tons of chances and deep down held out hope that they would maybe get back together one day. There is no hope and it’s really done for now, but she thinks it’s for the best.”
Thompson and Kardashian still text, talk, and spend time together on occasion, “but it is really only about True,” the source said. Kardashian’s family, additionally, are not fans of him right now.
“They would never trash Tristan in front of True, but they think Khloé needs to put him in his place and not act so nice constantly. He hasn’t been great to her,” the source said. “The family is not at all surprised by the news and have Khloé’s back and just want her to be fine with it and not sad. They don’t think Tristan would ever be faithful and are glad their romantic relationship is done.”
E! received a much terser comment from its source about how Kardashian is holding up. She’s “ignoring the noise,” the insider said, referring to all the news stories about Thompson being sued for child support. “Khloé’s focused on co-parenting.”
Kardashian has not directly commented on the scandal on any of her social media.
