I challenged myself to a smaller budget for Christmas gifts this year, so I went to Dollar Tree with the goal of spending $5 to $10 for each gift. I was pleasantly surprised with what I came up with, and these gift ideas are TOO GOOD to keep to myself! Whether it’s taco seasoning in a jar, hot chocolate in a mug gift basket, or any of the other ideas, I’ve got all the instructions you need to put them together PLUS a free downloadable gift tag to make each of your handmade gifts extra special!

Then, I personalized some of the items with decals made with my Cricut.   • Old candle
  • Heat resistant ramekin (a small casserole dish that’s 4-5″ in diameter – I found mine at Dollarama. Your local thrift store would be full of other possibilities too!)
  • Pot
  • Water
  • Old heat resistant glass measuring cup
  • Tweezers
  • Oven mitt
  • Bamboo skewer

  1. Hi Christina! I made 14 jars of simmer pot for friends and family. The most time consuming was the drying of the fruit. I used spruce clippings from our own tree and recycled mason jars that I already had on hand. I printed your handy tags and used recycled Christmas cards to embellish the lids. The assembling was the most fun part as I saw the ingredients come together – not to mention the lovely fragrance. I kept the leftovers in a larger jar for myself.
