North Dakota superintendent rails against critical race theory, ‘godless’ Dems

A North Dakota school official compared Democrats to Adolf Hitler and called on teachers to push the nation’s “Christian heritage” in an email bashing critical race theory.

Starkweather Public School District Superintendent Larry Volk called critical race theory “bigotry cloaked in academic theory,” in the email to administrators.

Volk claimed any “systematic racism” in the county was pushed by the “godless Democratic party” and advised it was “time to move away from godless corrupt woke, left-wing ideology and back to the devout Christ centered Republic the founders envisioned,” the Inforum reported Thursday.

The email, which was sent to a large mailing list run by the North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders, reportedly called CRT a “politically distorted view of American history that uses racist language to further drive a wedge between people from all walks of life.”

Starkweather, North Dakota is a town with just over 100 residents about two hours west of Grand Forks.

Critical race theory was a largely obscure scholarly philosophy until last year, when former President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning it from being taught in federally funded programs. The move came as activists marched for racial equality across the country in the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police.

The federal mandate was overturned by the current administration. North Dakota also banned the teaching of CRT even though there’s no evidence it was being taught in the state.

Volk’s updated missive highlighted historical “corruption and ills” from Democrats, including the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade, which he linked to the Nazi Holocaust for embracing a “culture of death,” according to the report.

Only 22 students are enrolled in Starkweather High School, with a 4.5 to 1 student to teacher ratio, according to High-Schools.com.
