Student income and HB - claim closed due to placement payment

The client is a single parent at University. She has student finance plus HB and CTC.
As part of her course she has one compulsory 6 week placement which pays £160/w for the 6 weeks only. This has led to a decision to close her HB claim due to excess income.
Is this decision correct? Or can it be challenged as her income in those 6 weeks doesn’t reflect her future average wage ? I have looked at CPAG p445/6

Many thanks in advance for any info.

As the client was on a university course required placement presumably this was not a contract of employment for the six weeks, can the HB team not be asked to consider attributing the income received over the student academic year in a similar way to how Student Finance is averaged out to enable the HB claim to be reinstated?
