Getting People to Call You: How and Why To Use Facebook Call Ads

Immediately connecting with people over the phone offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with potential customers. Using Call Ads is one way your business can encourage people to call you for a variety of reasons, like placing an order, asking for more information or scheduling an appointment.

If someone’s reaching out to your business through a Call Ad, they may be more likely to take a subsequent action. Once on the phone, you’ll have an opportunity to answer detailed questions and build a rapport, where you might also encourage that person to sign up for a newsletter, buy something and more.

How do Call Ads work?

When a customer sees your Call Ad in Facebook News Feed or Marketplace, for example, the ad includes a Call Now button. All that’s left for the customer to do is tap the image, video or Call Now button to dial your business directly.

What are the benefits of using Call Ads?

Some of the benefits you might expect from using Call Ads include:

  • Instantaneous connection with potential customers: Act as a source of real-time information when connecting over the phone.
  • Flexibility and convenience for your business: Schedule call ads to run only when your business is open and available for calls.
  • Ability to route calls to the phone number that works best for you: Set the phone number you want to route calls to where you want.

What should your business consider when running Call Ads?

There are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind when running Call Ads for your business. Remember to:

  • Schedule ads when you can answer calls: When creating ads, schedule them to run only when your business is available to take calls.
  • Plan for mobile-only placements: Call Ads appear in mobile placements, but won’t be shown on desktop devices.
  • Decide your call destination: Choose the phone number people will call when the dialer opens on their phone after tapping on your ad.
  • Collect additional customer information: Once on the phone, consider requesting additional information, like the customer’s name and contact information, to build a more complete profile of the customer who’s calling.

When you create a call ad, you can use a regular call ad, or you can use a call extension ad. Be sure to also check out other thought starters and considerations to help you attract and keep customers.
