Ishnala Supper Club Goes Through Old Fashioneds Faster Than My Great-Uncle Jerry
On the shores of Mirror Lake, Ishnala Supper Club is keeping Wisconsinites happy, selling 93,738 old fashioneds this year – that’s 455 of the suckers a day. The owner is applying for a world record with the folks over at Guinness. We’ll have to wait up to 16 weeks to hear if the achievement is officially certified. Man, I still my remember my first Old Fashioned. Great-Uncle Jerry waved me over and said, ‘Boy, it’s time you become a man’ and handed me his tumbler of brandy, and my mother said, ‘What the hell’s wrong with you? He’s four years old.’
This New Portable Bar Serves Up Wine on Wheels
West Allis’ Corvina Wine Co. just came out with Piccola Corvina, a mobile wine bar that will be available for private events. The converted vehicle, with taps built into the side, will be serving up wine, beer and cocktails. It’ll be available exclusively for private events, such as the next meeting of the Short Men’s Liberation Front, which will be held at my apartment a week from Tuesday. (We fight for Justice, Peace, and the Right of Men Under 5’10” to Not Get Laughed at When Speaking to Women).
The Bucks Visit the White House
This week the championship-winning Bucks went to the White House for a ceremony with President Joe Biden, who, as far as has been reported, did not rip any big ones during the proceedings. The Bucks, all decked out in suits and ties, did Milwaukee proud.

Stone Creek’s Bay View Café is Soon to Be History
Stone Creek’s Bay View café is closing in December, due to a conflict with the building’s landlord. The café owners say there’s a structural issue with an exterior wall that they believe poses a safety risk for customers.
You don’t have to tell me about the difficulty of dealing with landlords. My last one kicked me out just because he “found what I hid in the wall, you sick bastard” and was “going to call the police.” Landlords, am I right?

There Are Cougars Roaming West Bend

Winter is Here
It snowed Friday, and it might snow more this weekend. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy the Wisconsin winter, but the adjustment period is rough. Fall feels like it started two minutes ago. Ok. Deep Breath. Time to settle in for the long freeze.
