LUCKNOW:
Uttar Pradesh has improved its Logistics Ease Across Different States (Leads) ranking, leaping from 13th position in 2019 to 6th this year, the state government said on Monday.
Leads ranking was launched by the ministry of commerce and industry in 2018 to assess the performance and ease of logistics in states across the country. No survey was conducted last year in 2020.
A state government spokesperson said that UP was top improver among other states in the Leads ranking, moving up seven positions.
UP was followed by Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, which improved their rankings with six and five positions respectively.
UP is ahead of states like Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Leads ranking, the spokesperson said, adding that this was essentially because of increased investments in the state following “improved law and order” as well as “ease in doing business”.
This could be possible due to concerted efforts of departments like home, transport, PWD, urban development, housing & urban planning, skill development, state warehousing corporation, and industries.
