Liz Cheney Walks Into Fox Studios and Straight-Up Calls Tucker Carlson ‘Un-American’

Sometimes the irony is almost incomprehensible. One feels the need to do a systems check, get a complete physical, some intensive therapy. How did a Cheney become one of the Democrats’ greatest hopes for the future? And have no doubt, Liz Cheney is a major player in a historic challenge.

I have already written once this weekend, that this coming year will be one of the most important in this country’s history. We can go in one of two directions. Today, Cheney showed why she is one of the Democrats…, excuse me, Republicans, that we can absolutely count upon to fearlessly meet the moment.

Today, she accepted an offer to be interviewed on Fox News Sunday and promptly let Chris Wallace – a Fox News employee – know that Fox analysts are a big part of the problem, dividing the country with disinformation. Without saying his name, Cheney put Tucker right in her sites and blasted:

You know, it’s the same kind of thing that you hear from people who say that 9/11 was an inside job. It’s un-American to be spreading those kinds of lies and they are lies. And we have an obligation that goes beyond partisanship, an obligation that we share — Democrats and Republicans together — to make sure that we understand every single piece of the facts about what happened that day and to make sure the people who did are held accountable.”

Obviously, Carlson is the only one who has been talking about the FBI possibly having a role as “Unindicted conspirator No. 1” and possibly covering their own participation, to say nothing about the disinformation Tucker has spread about the vaccines.

It takes a special person, a warrior of the type we need, to help preserve the type of democracy that we once may have expected as an American birthright, but now know it must be lived as a day-by-day commitment.

Cheney walked right into the belly of the beast and pointed out that some don’t seem to share that commitment. Tucker.
