Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 7:40 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 to a report of an electrical odor and light smoke at Sweet T’s Bakery & Cake Studio, 21 South Dunton Avenue at Arlington Heights.

Firefighters arrived at the end unit of a one-story retail building. Interior firefighters on arrival reported a light haze of undetermined cause inside the retail space.

Firefighters determined a minor problem caused the light haze, that there was no fire, and that the scene was secure. Firefighters ventilated the store with an electric fan. The scene had the look of a minor problem with an appliance or a light fixture, but this was not confirmed.

A Mount Prospect ladder tower truck was also assigned to the scene, which is normal for calls where firefighters are responding to a possible building fire.

All firefighters cleared the scene by about 8:00 p.m.

No fire or smoke was reported at the scene, and the fire alarm was reset with no trouble at the building.
