F1 drivers united: 'It's better for us than in MotoGP'

The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend marks one of the bumpiest Grands Prix of the season. When the MotoGP raced in Austin earlier this month, there were a lot of complaints about the bumps on the circuit, but the F1 drivers are hoping it won't be too bad for them.

Better for F1 than MotoGP

Several adjustments have been made to the track to make it less bumpy, but whether it has really helped remains to be seen this weekend. "Nobody can say for sure how it is now, and on our last visit to Austin in the 2019 season it was definitely very, very difficult with all those bumps, " Antonio Giovinazzi told Speedweek.com. "I watch the races of the Motorcycling World Championship and the MotoGP stars complained a lot about it. But for us, it must be definitely better than in the MotoGP race. I hope it will be good."

Circuits with character

Pierre Gasly, a big fan of MotoGP himself and friends with MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo, saw the problems in MotoGP with the bumps. "For us, it should probably be a little bit better because there have been adjustments since then, so I expect it should be easier for us," he said.

"I think we've all noticed how many problems the MotoGP riders had", explains Esteban Ocon. "But we're on four wheels, so for us, it shouldn't be so bad. We also want tracks with character and the bumps are part of that. After all, we're not here to make it as easy as possible for ourselves."
