  • JAX Tight End #81
Jaguars signed TE Josiah Deguara, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year contract.
Deguara was a third-round pick of the Packers in 2020, and has totaled 47 receptions for 436 yards and two touchdowns for his career. He mananaged only eight catches for 65 scoreless yards last season, as rookies Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave earned significant playing time out of the gate. Deguara won’t have any fantasy relevance in Jacksonville’s offense.
  • BAL Running Back #27
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports free agent RB J.K. Dobbins is scheduled to meet with the Chargers.
Dobbins has been cleared for football activities after suffering a torn Achilles in Week 1 last season. The former second-round pick has been among the most efficient running backs in the league when healthy, but a torn ACL in 2021 followed by last year’s injury could prove detrimental to his playing future. Dobbins, 25, would reunite with former Ravens teammate Gus Edwards if he and the Chargers are able to come to terms on a deal.
  • KC Running Back
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports the Chiefs are signing rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit to play RB/WR.
Rees-Zammit is a 23-year-old Welsh rugby player who joined the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program earlier this year. He visited the Browns, Jets, Broncos, and Chiefs, impressing the Chiefs enough to sign him. Rees-Zammit has played rugby in Wales, England, and internationally. The reigning champion Chiefs now add him with the intent of trying to play him at running back and/or wide receiver.
  • SEA General Manager
Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta reports that Seahawks general manager John Schneider said the Seahawks “have a lot to figure out” on the offensive line.
The Seahawks currently have Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas at the starting tackle spots, but could look to add at guard with LG Damien Lewis leaving for the Panthers and RG Phil Haynes currently a free agent. Seattle currently holds the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and could add an offensive lineman with that selection. Most of the team’s offensive skill players are returning with QB Geno Smith still expected to start. They will enter year one under head coach Mike Macdonald in 2024 and Schneider has made it clear the Smith’s protection on the offensive line is still incomplete.
  • DET Quarterback #10
    Lions re-signed QB Nate Sudfeld.
Sudfeld served as Jared Goff’s backup in 2022 and had a shot at hanging onto the role last year. He was slated for a quarterback competition with Teddy Bridgewater until he suffered a torn ACL in a preseason game versus the Panthers. With Bridgewater retired, Sudfeld will compete with second-year quarterback Hendon Hooker for the backup job.
  • CAR Linebacker #24
Panthers signed EDGE Jadeveon Clowney, formerly of the Ravens, to a two-year, $20 million contract.
Ian Rapoport was first with the scoop and Adam Schefter later added the contract details. Clowney most recently played in Baltimore, racking up 9.5 sacks and nine TFLs in his only season as a Raven. Now a mercenary, Clowney has played for four different teams in five years since finishing out his rookie contract with the Texans. Even at 31 years old, Clowney is still a top-end pass-rusher. He will join a Carolina front seven looking to retool after a disappointing 2023 campaign.
  • CLG Wide Receiver
LSU WR Malik Nabers ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.
Nabers didn’t just blaze with his straight-line speed at LSU’s Pro Day. He also logged a 42-inch vertical and a 129-inch broad jump. Both marks are elite for a wide receiver. Though Nabers is a long-shot to unseat Marvin Harrison Jr. as the WR1 of this class, his stellar Pro Day should keep him as the WR2. With the Vikings poised to move up for a quarterback, there are still many dominoes to fall, but it’s hard to imagine Nabers getting past the receiver-needy Giants at No. 6 overall. The Chargers, also in desperate need of receiver talent, are in the mix for Nabers one pick earlier as well.
  • CAR Safety #42
    Panthers re-signed S Sam Franklin to a one-year contract.
Franklin was brought back on a one-year deal last offseason after primarily playing special teams in 2022. Though he remained a special teams ace in 2023, Franklin also set a career-high in defensive snaps at 289. That, in turn, led to a high-water mark in tackles (30) as well. Franklin’s breakout season even involved a 99-yard pick-six against the Vikings in Week 4.
  • HOU Linebacker #43
Texans re-signed LB Neville Hewitt to a one-year contract.
Hewitt doesn’t play much on defense these days but is a key contributor on special teams. Per Pro Football Focus, he finished top-10 in special teams snaps in 2023. Hewitt also totaled 14 tackles last year. He will return to a similar role in 2024 but could step into a larger role on defense if needed.
  • JAX Running Back #4
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Tank Bigsby needs to be more involved in the team’s rushing offense in 2024.
“We have to get Tank going, the bottom line. He is too good, that’s why we drafted him. I think early he had some ‘what is that’ type plays for whatever reason right or wrong. Again, in and out of the lineup,” Pederson said. “He is a young player that we’re excited about. Like we talked about last year, we take some burden off of Etienne [RB Travis Etienne] a little bit, keep him healthy for the remainder of the season.” Pederson told NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry last month that the team would cut down Etienne’s workload in 2024 after he racked up 325 touches in 2023 — more than any running back besides Christian McCaffrey. Bigsby was a disaster during his rookie campaign. He was benched for large swaths of the season after costly turnovers early in the year. Bigsby played just 141 snaps and had 50 carries for Jacksonville last season. The Jags, who took Bigsby in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, seem intent on giving him another chance in 2024.
