3 Tips For Driving Business Growth Using Insights in Facebook Business Suite

Providing business updates, engaging followers and continually sharing fresh stories and posts on your Facebook Page and Instagram accounts helps provide you with rich insights that can help guide your long and short term social media marketing strategies.

Below, we’ve outlined how to use a few key areas of the Insights tab in Facebook Business Suite. Business Suite is a single destination spanning mobile and desktop1 that lets you manage your business activity across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger, for free. And with the data provided in the Insights area of Facebook Business Suite, you can better understand the results of your organic and paid social media efforts across Facebook and Instagram, all in one place.

For example, if you manage a business with a Facebook Page, an Instagram business profile and run ads, you can see insights for these in Facebook Business Suite under the Insights tab. You can use these insights to inform your future efforts, helping you optimize how you spend your time and resources.

You can do things like track key trends, see your posts’ engagement rates, and learn more about your Facebook and Instagram audiences. Keeping an eye on these things can help you understand your customers and prospects, your presence across platforms, and create higher-quality and better-performing content so you can ultimately drive business growth.

1
Identify Key Trends

Quickly view insights on the performance of your Facebook Page and Instagram business account, like trends regarding reach. Reach is the number of unique people who saw any content from or about your Page or account, including posts, stories, ads and more. For example, you can see how your reach has shifted over time and whether your Facebook Page versus Instagram account have more reach. Reach can be helpful to see whether your business is expanding its audience and is different from impressions, which may include multiple views of your posts by the same people.

The [Facebook Business Suite] interface is easy to use and makes reviewing insights, like reach, much simpler. I’m also able to better understand what types of content are resonating with audiences on each app.

2
Assess Your Contents’ Performance

Developing and sharing content is a critical part of not only connecting with people, but also essential to growing your business. Post content regularly so you can build those connections and share what makes your business unique.

Go to the Insights section of your Business Suite Home screen for an at-a-glance view of how your content is doing in areas like reach or comments. For a more comprehensive view on how your posts and ads are performing across Facebook and Instagram, go to the Insights tab where you can look at additional metrics such as shares, likes and reactions. And, if you’ve run ads, you can see metrics such as results, costs per results and number of link clicks. Download these results to share them with others.

Draft and schedule different types of content in Business Suite and monitor the Insights section to understand what performs best. Use these insights to adapt your social media content strategy and develop more of or boost the posts you’ve learned your audience loves.

3
Understand Your Audience

Actively engaging with your audience is an important part of building a social presence for your business. Using Insights in Business Suite can help you save time by understanding more about your audience — current and potential — in areas such as demographics and interests, so you can tailor your marketing and messaging accordingly.

If you’re looking to get a sense of your potential audience size, go to the Potential Audience section and use the filter button in the top right corner. Based on your knowledge of your current audience, filter for locations, demographics, interests and more to arrive at a potential audience size that you can target via organic and paid social media efforts.

If you’re not already using Facebook Business Suite, learn more about what it is and how to get started on desktop or on the mobile app on iOS or Android.
