4 imported COVID-19 cases found

October 20, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating four additional imported COVID-19 cases, three of which involve the L452R mutant strain while the remaining case’s mutation test result is pending.

The four patients arrived from the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. All of them tested positive for the virus during quarantine.

Regarding a previous local case with the L452R mutant strain and an imported case involving a patient who had stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period, people who had been at two specified premises during the specified period have to undergo additional compulsory testing.

The Government also announced the operating details of mobile specimen collection stations.

A total of 64 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days. One is a local case with an unknown infection source and the rest are imported.
