15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Oct. 19-24

A bumpin’ beer week includes the presale of a new barrel-aged stout from Third Space and a whole lot of beer yoga.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

Sales have started for the latest big barrel-aged stout release from Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). Deconstructed Dessert: German Chocolate Cake breaks down the decadent chocolate cake into six variants. The first two are available for pickup starting on Saturday, Oct. 30 but you can preorder now. The Beer is a barrel-aged imperial stout and The Chocolate is the stout with cacao added. The Vanilla, The Coconut, The Pecan and the finale bringing it all together, The German Chocolate Cake, will be released in pairs November and December.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

Take on the crew from Milwaukee Brewing Co. at the latest installment of Beat the Brewer at Brookfield Square’s WhirlyBall (185 S. Moorland Rd., Brookfield) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sample a few Milwaukee Brewing beers and try to win cool prizes by winning at WhirlyBall.

Black Husky Brewing is taking over some of the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. Owners Tim and Toni Eichinger will be there, as will Leashless Lab with their beer grain dog treats. Spend some quality time with your dog, while drinking great Black Husky brews, on the Ray’s patio.

Friday, Oct. 22

Third Space Brewing is releasing Apple Brown Ale for its Pints With a Purpose Program. Third Space will donate 20% of the sales from the night to Milwaukee Diaper Mission. The group also receives 20% of ongoing sales from the Apple Brown Ale.

1840 Brewing Co. (342 E. Ward St.) has two seasonally appropriate dark beers slated for release this weekend. Bats on the Bine is a black IPA and Schwarzen Katze is a German-style black lager. Preorder begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Our biggest subscription sale of the year is happening this week only!

Saturday, Oct. 23

Black Husky (909 E. Locust St.) is releasing the delicious Sparkly Eyes Imperial Spruce IPA at noon. More importantly, there will be a “More Cowbell” sketch reenactment contest at 7 p.m.

Fall Family Fun Fest comes to The Tap Yard (1150 Sunset Dr., Waukesha) from 2 to 6 p.m. Adults can enjoy a great beer or two while the kids can stay busy with hay rides, face painting, games and more.

Check out the new Central Waters Milwaukee location (1037 W. Juneau Ave.) and get some exercise in the process. Beer yoga runs from 10 to 11 a.m. and is followed by a refreshing Central Waters beer. If that time doesn’t work, head to Sugar Maple (411 E. Lincoln Ave.) for its yoga session from 11 to noon. Both are part of the MKE Yoga Social’s Yogtober Beer Yoga Crawl.

The Milwaukee County Historical Society hosts History & Beer Bike Tour: Haunted Milwaukee from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ride starts at MCHS (910 N. Old World 3rd St.) and makes its way to a few Riverwest breweries on the Oak Leaf Trail. (If you can’t make it this weekend, there’s another date next Saturday as well.)

The Milwaukee Public Market celebrates 16 years (hard to believe) with the Public Market Harvest Festival. The fun takes place in Riverwalk Commons Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lakefront Brewery will be there with a tapping of Lakefront Pumpkin Lager – poured from a giant pumpkin. That’s reason enough to go.

The 5th Annual Brew Ha Ha comes to the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) from 7 to 10 p.m. The event benefits Gigi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center. Enjoy German beer, food, a silent auction and more.

Sunday, Oct. 24

Yogtober comes to Dead Bird Brewing (1726 N. 5th St.) from 10 to 11 a.m. Another yoga option is at Third Space from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Like the rest, Yoga in Your Third Space rewards you with a beer.

Not into yoga for a morning beer workout? Head to Black Husky Brewing for Jigs & Swigs, where Irish dancing provides the workout. No experience required.
