Police investigating a serious assault in Beckenham have arrested a 26-year-old man, as the victim remains in a critical condition.
Officers were called to the High Street shortly after 1.20am on Sunday, October 17, attending alongside the ambulance service, where they found a 42-year-old man with a serious head injury.
He was treated at the scene before being rushed to a south London hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. His next of kin were informed.
A 26-year-old man attended a south London police station on Monday, October 18, after an appeal for information.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and subsequently bailed to a date in mid-November.
Police are still keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the assault.
