Are Privacy and Personalization at Odds? Episode 4 of Let Me Explain Has Answers.
We believe that keeping people’s information safe is important. That’s why we’re investing in privacy-enhancing technologies — or PETs for short. PETs help minimize the amount of personal information we process, while still allowing us to show relevant ads and measure effectiveness. Our goal is to connect people around the world and help businesses find relevant customers while respecting people’s choices around privacy. We need data to provide personalization on our platforms, and PETs help us protect that data while still allowing us to offer tailored and valuable experiences.
These technologies will be an essential foundation for digital advertising in the future. They help us demonstrate that personalization and privacy don’t need to be at odds. This episode of Let Me Explain explains what privacy-enhancing technologies are and how they work.
