How to Use Ads in Facebook Business Suite to Reach More Customers

Ads are an important tool that can help you attract new customers and reach more people beyond your current followers. When businesses like yours want to reach people who aren’t yet familiar with your products and services, you can advertise using Facebook Business Suite.

Facebook Business Suite is a single destination, spanning mobile and desktop,1 that lets you manage your business presence across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger, for free. If you’re not already using Facebook Business Suite, learn more about what it is and how to get started. Then, read on for tips about how to create content that grows your business and how to connect with customers using Business Suite’s easy-to-use tools.

When you’re ready to get started with ads, create an ad on Facebook Business Suite desktop or mobile app, that will show up on Facebook and Instagram, or get more people to see your business’s existing content by boosting a post. When you boost a post, you're promoting that content and creating an ad.

Here are a few tips you can follow whether you're creating a new ad or boosting an existing post:

1
Make Sure Your Facebook Page and Instagram Account Are Up-to-Date

Ads and boosted posts will drive new people to your Page and accounts, so be sure your Facebook Page is complete and filled out, and that on Instagram your photo, bio and website link are there. To make changes or additions to your Facebook Page and Instagram account, you can update your business’ profile information directly from Facebook Business Suite.

2
Define Your Goals and Audience

Before getting started, it’s important to think about what you’d like to achieve. Maybe you’d like to get more website traffic or appointments for your services. Or maybe your goal is to receive more leads, get more messages or promote your page. When boosting a post or creating an ad, be sure to choose an objective that ties to your business goals.

Also consider who the best audience is for your ad or boosted post. In Business Suite, you can take a look at the Audience section under the Insights tab to see what your current demographics are and use this information to determine who it makes sense to target. You can target audiences based on elements like interests and demographics, allowing you to reach potential customers who are a great fit for your business.

3
Create Content with Your Audience In Mind

Now that you’ve defined your goals and audience, think about what’s essential and compelling to communicate to that particular audience. For example, how would you describe your business to someone who has never heard of it? What would be the most important things to communicate? How can you highlight what’s unique about your business?

Take a look at common questions and comments from new customers on your posts and stories and within your Inbox in Business Suite. This can give you clues as to what newbies want to know about your business.

4
Boost Your Best-Performing Content

Use your best content to grow your audience and get greater reach. Examine your posts in the Posts & Stories tab of Business Suite to see which have performed the best; these will be good contenders to boost.

You can boost your posts directly in the Posts & Stories tab or from Home in Business Suite.

Now that you’ve learned how to use Business Suite and expand your reach using ads and boosting posts, give it a try on desktop or on the mobile app on iOS or Android.
