OLYMPIA, Wash. – Less than 1% of fully vaccinated people in Washington have reported breakthrough cases, according to new data from the Washington State Department of Health.
The Department of Health released a report Wednesday that shows 36,919 COVID-19 breakthrough cases were reported between Jan. 17, 2021 and Sept. 11, 2021.
Of the breakthrough cases, 88% reported symptoms, 9% were hospitalized, and less than 1% (331 people) died from COVID-19 related illness.
