HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Sunday Hawaii reported seven additional COVID fatalities, pushing the death toll from the virus to 660.

In this month alone, Hawaii has recorded 71 deaths. This comes a day after 12 deaths were reported across the islands.

The Department of Health provided the following details on the deaths:

Kauai

1 Male, 70-79 yrs, hospitalized

1 Female, 70-79 yrs, hospitalized

Maui

1 Female, 60-69 yrs, hospitalized

Hawaii

1 Female, 70-79 yrs, died at home

Oahu

1 Male, 20-29 yrs, died at home

1 Male, 40-49 yrs, hospitalized

1 Male, 60-69 yrs, hospitalized

Meanwhile, 735 new infections were reported by the DOH, bringing the total number of infections since the pandemic began to 71,891.

Over the last 14 days, there have been 9,343 cases reported, which are considered “active” across the state.

Of the cases reported Sunday:

  • 484 were on Oahu
  • 111 on Hawaii Island
  • 57 on Maui
  • 56 on Kauai
  • 5 on Molokai

There were also 22 residents diagnosed out-of-state.

Some 64.9% of the state’s population is fully vaccinated, while 73.1% have received at least one dose.
