The Pumpkin Spice Cream Puff Is Back

And it’s joined by another new puff flavor.

Alas, lemonade season is over and we’re firmly into that heady time of PSLs. (For the uninitiated, that’s Pumpkin Spice Lattes.) Last fall, the Wisconsin State Fair and the Wisconsin Baker’s Association debuted a limited-edition Pumpkin Spice Cream Puff. This year, that flavor is back, along with a new variety – the Latte Cream Puff.

Both flavors of puff will be offered only during Harvest Fair (Sept. 24-26), an event at Wisconsin State Fair Park (640 S. 84th St., West Allis) featuring pumpkin bowling, scarecrow-making, a farmers market, live entertainment and amusement park rides. Admission is free.

The puffs will be available in single, 3-packs and 6-packs, and there’s also a drive-thru pickup option that runs Sept. 23-26. Drive-thru hours are:

  • Thursday, 9/23-Friday, 9/24: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9/25-Sunday, 9/26: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

And you can pre-order puffs here.

Curious about the spicy puff’s culinary attributes? MilMag staff conducted a rigorous, “no-holds-barred” review of the flavor last year. The judges’ comments ranged from “like an airy pumpkin pie” to a flavor “mild enough that I can ignore it and enjoy this cream puff.”
