Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) won the judged portion of Wisconsin IPA Fest last weekend with Lonesome Citra Hazy IPA. Congrats! The brewery is releasing Let The Games Begin West Coast IPA at 4 p.m. in conjunction with its Back to School Bash, which includes live music, outdoor games and general frivolity.
Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) is pouring Oktoberfest brews from its tap lines from 4 to 10 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 2
A month-long Oktoberfest celebration kicks off at The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) at 4 p.m. You’ve got plenty of time for stein drinking, the event happens every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Oct. 3.
Summerfest begins its three-weekend run, which means plenty of music, food and beer (not all of it good). Head to the Water Street Brewery area if you’re looking for a few more beer options than offered by the big stages.

New Baron’s Brewing Co-op is hosting a Hop Pickin’ Party from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The four hops patrons are picking off of fresh hop bines will be used to wet hop the 4×4 American Pale Ale, which will be brewed the next day.
Raised Grain’s pop-up beer garden comes to Mukwonago Park (S100 W31900 County Hwy LO) for the weekend. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Friday, Sept. 3
1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) has a big release weekend planned. Barrel-Aged Sea Turtle is an imperial milk stout made with delicious items like pecans and cacao nibs and aged in Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels. Floating Features is a dry-hopped double IPA. Both should be good, and both are available for presale at 9 a.m. Pickup is after 3 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 5
It’s Family Fun Day at The Tap Yard (1150 W. Sunset Dr., Waukesha) from noon to 7 p.m. They’ll be face painting, inflatables, food trucks, and, for the parents, good beer on tap.
