9 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Aug. 27-29

From beer to festivals and live music, it seems to be a promising weekend in Milwaukee.

1. Country in the Burg

Head to Cedarburg’s Cedar Creek Park to listen to a local lineup of country artists. Country in the Burg is passionate about supporting local charities, the military and children’s hospital. In addition to music, the event also offers barbecue, drinks, golfing and more.

2. Mexican Fiesta

Celebrate Mexico’s rich history, art, music and food on Milwaukee’s Summerfest Grounds at Mexican Fiesta 2021. Throughout the weekend, there will be food, fun, Mariachi and Fiesta for all. Benefitting scholarships for Hispanic students, supporting the local community and fostering a sense of connection in the area, the Mexican Fiesta is a great way to immerse yourself in Milwaukee’s rich Hispanic culture.

3. World of Beer Festival

SATURDAY 12-5 P.M. | 700 W. LEXINGTON BLVD.

Strictly, “By Beer Nuts, For Beer Nuts.” Join the Beer Barons of Milwaukee in tasting over 350 beers, meads and ciders this weekend at the 18th annual World of Beer Festival.

4. Bark N Brew Fest

FRIDAY 5-8 P.M., SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 11 A.M.-5 P.M. | 7300 CHESTNUT ST.

Celebrate your canine companion this weekend at Bark N Brew Fest in Wauwatosa’s Hart Park. Yappy Hour happens Friday and costs $15. Admission is free Saturday and Sunday. With over 40 vendors and activities, live entertainment, food from Leff’s Lucky Town and a giant beer tent, you (and your pup!) won’t want to miss out on the fun.

5. Wisconsin IPA Fest

Help name Wisconsin’s best IPA. With over 50 Wisconsin breweries coming to Milwaukee’s Third Space Brewing from across the state, you sure won’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind event.

6. The Wailers at The Rave

FRIDAY | 2401 W. WISCONSIN AVE.

With a mix of Jamaican reggae and urban Latin music, The Wailers’ new album “One World, One Prayer,” continues Bob Marley’s legacy while also featuring other famous musicians. In late 2020, The Wailers released the first single off of their new album. “One World, One Prayer,” is monumental. It is the band’s first album in 25 years, and it has been nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category.

7. MKE Fringe Fest

SATURDAY | 929 N. WATER ST.

Showcasing a diverse collection of artists since 2016, “MKE Fringe is a joyous celebration of what makes Milwaukee’s culture vibrant and extraordinary.” This festival aims to feature artists who would otherwise struggle to find an audience for their work. With both in-person and online attendance options, guests can expect both scheduled stage shows and roving pop-up performances.

8. The East Side Art Market

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, NOON-4 P.M. | 1915 E. NORTH AVE.

Featuring 12 local vendors plus live music, the East Side Art Market is perfect for all local art lovers, market goers and MKE enthusiasts.

9. Saturday Beer Garden

SATURDAY 3-9 P.M. | OLD FALLS VILLAGE

This free, weekly event features live music, kids activities, delicious food and of course, beer. All proceeds benefit the Menomonee Falls Historical Society.
