Phil Taylor donates item as darts players raise money for Kyle Anderson's family

Phil Taylor and many other darts players are raising money for Kyle Anderson's family following his death. He leaves behind his wife Tara and two children, Charles and Marcus

Phil Taylor is among darts players who are raising money for Kyle Anderson’s family.

The Australian passed away at the age of 33 this week and tributes poured in from both darts players and fans alike.

His former manager set up a GoFundMe page has been set up for donations for his family, wife Tara, young son Charles and five-month-old baby Marcus.

The likes of 16-time world champion Phil Taylor, Michael Smith, Glen Durant and James Wade have all donated items.

Australian World No.40 Damon Heta said: "Thank you, everyone, for the overwhelming love and support.


“It just goes to show how loved Kyle was and how missed he will be.”

Heta, a childhood friend of Anderson's, joined forced with Anderson's ex manager, Mac Elkin and his Sportsman Management Company to run a raffle to raise some funds for his family who are grieving his loss.


Shirts signed by darts players will be up for grabs and fans can pay £10 a ticket to get involved.

Heta tweeted: "As everyone is aware @KyleDarts passed away on Tuesday leaving a massive void in everyone’s heart.

"Myself along with @macelkin180 & the guys at @tsmcltd180 will be running a raffle to help raise funds for Tara, Charles & Marcus at this horrible time."

Taylor, 61, was then among those to promptly pay further tribute to Anderson when his death was announced.

"What terrible news to wake up to," tweeted the 16-time world champion.


"What a nice friendly man. RIP pal. Thoughts go to all your family."

Anderson was an immensely popular figure on the PDC circuit and played in seven World Championships after making his debut in the 2012-13 event - and held a PDC Tour card from 2014 until this year.

Both of his career highlights came in 2017 when he captured the Players Championship, and followed that with a first televised title at the Auckland Darts Masters . He also had a nine-dart finish in the World Championship to his name.


Anderson, who was diabetic, had returned to Australia at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year and contracted Covid-19 during 2020.

He relinquished his tour card in January as he opted to stay at home for family reasons following the birth of his second child.

The 'Original' was one of only eight players to have hit a nine-dart finish at the PDC World Championship, rising to fame in 2013.

Anderson contracted covid-19 last and suffered diabetes, however his cause of death is still unknown.
