There will be no fans allowed at games venue if the Digicel Premier League competition resumes in October.

The Fiji Football Association will be applying for closed door games when they are set to return to the ground.

Fiji FA chief executive officer, Mohammed Yusuf, said they are finalising finer details of their application with their medical commission members.

“The documents we are preparing are how teams should train and the safe protocols, how the teams will take part, without any spectators and after match variation and protocols,” he said.

“The key part is anybody that enters the ground must be double dosed vaccination. That is our key element so far that most of our players will get vaccinated.

“We will be submitting it to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT), Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Health and Health and Medical Services and Fiji national Sports Commission.

“We want the approval early so that we can start negotiating for the live coverage in TV, so people still stay at home and watch it.”

Fiji FA will also negotiate with relevant television broadcasters to air the weekly games once their application is approved.

“When the approval is given once we apply, then we have to do a lot of other work to ensure matches are played in a safe manner.

“The only people inside the ground will be two teams, officials, match officials and the media.

“Once the Government give the green light then we can resume by October then we will negotiate with the TV stations, so that our people can watch from home.”

Meanwhile transfers for the season has been finalised, with  majority of the applications being rejected.

“Most of the applications are ineligible so they are rejected, most of the key players in all districts are staying put.”
