35,000 Ben Sheets Bobbleheads Are Missing!

If you’re attending Sunday’s game at American Family Field, you won’t be getting a Ben Sheets bobblehead.

Where, oh where are the Ben Sheets bobbleheads?

No one seems to know for sure at this point, including the Milwaukee Brewers, who were set to distribute 35,000 of the prize bobbleheads to fans attending Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals at American Family Field in celebration of the 2000s Decade Weekend.

“The Bobbles are officially missing,” the team stated in a release on Thursday.

Having fun with the situation, the Brewers claim there have been sightings of a few stray Ben Sheets bobbleheads vacationing in Hawaii, zip-lining in Costa Rica and hiking in Yellowstone reported over the last few days.

Officially, the Bobbleheads are caught in a shipping delay and with time running short, the delivery is not likely to arrive prior to the Sunday game, the team announced.

“While the Bobbleheads will soon find their way ‘home,’ there is good news,” the team said.

Fans attending the 1:10 p.m. game Sunday will receive a Potluck Bobblehead – a Bobblehead of a Brewers player from another 2021 promotional date – in addition to a raincheck voucher for the Ben Sheets Bobblehead. More information, including how the voucher can be redeemed, will be posted at brewers.com/allfan.

The real Ben Sheets pitched for eight seasons with the Brewers, compiling an 86-83 record with a highly respectable 3.72 ERA. Sheets, who struggled with injuries, also pitched parts of two seasons for the Oakland A’s before winding up his career with the Atlanta Braves.

A four-time All-Star during his time in Milwaukee, Sheets became the first Brewers pitcher to start an All-Star Game. He also won a gold medal as a member of the U.S. baseball team in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Sheets is perhaps best known for striking out 18 batters in a May 16, 2004, game versus the Braves to set a franchise record that still stands.
