I have a different take. I have both the car mount and desk holder which allows me to mount and charge at the same time. In addition, the decktop holder floats the phone in the air so my mic doesn't get blocked and i use the phone speaker to talk to people. Once my wife sees it, she wanted one too since we both work from home. It's great.

+1. Requires a USB-C block but charges remarkably slower than a much cheaper USB-C to Lightning cable. Somewhat of a gimmick.

Having this thing magnetic is super underrated. I keep it 'stuck' to the side of my desk, the metal leg, and unstick it to charge my phone as needed. It's cleaner than a loose charging cable and I find it easier to use the phone while charging, something about the positioning.

Wild that there aren't third parties for a little cheaper, $30 is still spicy for what you get. $20 is where I'd slowly start replacing cords

Do not buy. It is ass. You need to buy another charging adapter for it to work fully.

I bought this mount for a road trip and really liked it. It comes from a reputable brand, it has the extra vertical magnet below the round one for a little more holding power and comes with its own separate usb c car charger. Works especially well if you have a MagSafe case.
