The Milwaukee Black Theater Festival is hosting its first-ever Youth Night Wednesday. The festival is in partnership with St. Ann Intergenerational Center for Care and gives families and children 8-18 the opportunity to experience multiple theaters in one location.
The free, curated event will bring youth performers from theaters around Milwaukee together as well as communities to experience original performance art exploring the theme “The Strength and Resilience of the Black Woman.” It includes special performances by First Stage, Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Professional Training Institute, Next Act Theatre’s Next Actors, Black Arts MKE’s Youth Ensemble and the band K-Stamp led by Kwasi Stampley.

The Youth Night will be hosted by Milwaukee Rep’s Ashley Jordan. Join them to watch performances at the St. Ann Intergenerational Center for Care (2450 W. North Avenue) at 6:30 p.m.
The festival itself is a two-week, citywide event that aims to amplify and celebrate Black voices. It will include two full-length productions, a new play reading and more. Go to the official website for a full schedule of events.
