Australia has no plans to deliver Pfizer vaccines to Fiji.

Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Zed Seselja, said they would continue to send through AstraZeneca vaccines.

“In relation to the Pfizer vaccines, there’s no doubt that this is being challenging but we have committed AstraZeneca doses,” Mr Seselja said.

“And so there are no plans that I’m aware of to be delivering Pfizer doses into the region at the moment.

“Mr Seselja said the Australian government was committed to providing a million doses to Fiji as it continued its mass vaccination campaign while battling the increased number of cases.”

The Australian High Commission in Fiji supplied 100,000 Australian-manufactured COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines which arrived on a Fiji Airways flight at the Nadi International Airport on Thursday last week.

Australia has given 760,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to Fiji since the outbreak.
