World Rating For Fijian Duo
Two Team Fiji rugby players have been rated by World Rugby as among their six breakout stars at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Winger Jiuta Wainiqolo and Fijiana halfback, Reapi Ulunisau, are the two players who stood out.
And Wainiqolo said being rated by World Rugby was only possible through God and the tremendous support from teammates and family.
“It means a lot to me and my teammates but it’s all about teamwork,” he said.
“I’m just a finisher, and I did my job, so it’s an honour to be rated one the top six and I want to thank God for that and my family back home.”
The duo were on their first international tournament besides the Oceania 7s which was played two weeks before the Tokyo Games.
Ulunisau went on to be the Olympic Games top try-scorer with eight tries and the only player to have scored four tries in a match at the Olympics.
The other four players are Chloe Jacquet, 19, from France, Wang Wanyu from China and Argentina duo Ignacio Mendi and Marcos Moneta.
After six days of intense competition, here’s how World Rugby rated our players.
