Homicide Investigation for Infant Death After EMS Call on Kindberg Court in Elburn

Elburn Police and firefighters and paramedics from The Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District responded about 7:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 to a report of an infant having difficulty with breathing to the block of 800 Kindberg Court in Elburn.

Upon arrival paramedics discovered an infant male in respiratory distress and treated and transported the infant to Delnor Hospital in St. Charles. The infant was transferred to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he late Sunday, August 1, 2021.




The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the boy as 2-month-old Kasen Kaitharath, and ruled the cause of death as a homicide from multiple injuries of child abuse.

Elburn police are investigating the homicide. Elburn police stated there is no danger to the public.
