Fiji’s Vude Prince Savuto Vakadewavosa is taking a new approach to raise funds to allow him to complete his upcoming album.
And like many other Fijian artistes in the country, the pandemic has drastically affected them with the downturn experienced in the local music industry.
However, that has not hindered Vakadewavosa as he will be performing in a virtual concert via #TwitterSpaceJam and via Facebook simultaneously this Saturday at 4pm.
“The COVID-19 restrictions on social gatherings, etcetera, have hindered singers from making money from live performances,” he said.
He said the virtual show would feature the singer’s chart-topping originals which would also include English and Fijian classics.
“I have been rehearsing for over a month now and I am so excited to perform for my supporters from all Fijians here and around the world.
“I would like to thank the #TwitterSpaceJam hosts Dexter Tee, Dan Paris and Henessy for inviting me and allowing a space as such to assist artistes in Fiji.”
Vakadewavosa also said a percentage of the money raised would be used to purchase everyday necessities to assist a family affected by the pandemic.
“It’s the least I can do to help with all that’s happening in our beloved Fiji today.”
