Because children spend most of their waking hours at school, choosing the right place is one of the most consequential decisions parents make. A child’s experience at school significantly affects their entire family’s quality of life.

Milwaukee Montessori School fosters a diverse and inclusive community, with a program that is entirely competency-based.  Montessori students master concepts and skills in their own time, as they construct and coalesce their knowledge. Even the youngest children are supported in their intrinsic motivation to learn, and they experience agency over their work development.

Delivering a mastery-based program requires a well-trained faculty who see each child as an individual on a path to competence. At MMS, this foundational belief and exceptional faculty are united with a commitment to democracy and personal freedom, solidarity with those at the periphery of society, and dedication to the well-being of our planet. Ultimately, Montessori’s goal is to educate children to become informed, engaged, ethically minded citizens for the world that they will inherit.
