2 imported COVID-19 cases identified

July 24, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional COVID-19 cases involving a man and a woman who arrived from the United Arab Emirates and the US.

A total of 24 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, including 23 imported cases and one import-related case.

The centre reminded specified people linked to Chung Mei Building on 149-157 Tai Kok Tsui Road and Block 6, Handsome Court in Tuen Mun to undergo compulsory testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice. The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station at Beech Street, Tai Kok Tsui near the Drainage Services Department Sewage Pumping Station tomorrow to provide a free testing service.

Additionally, people connected to a specified place where an imported case with the L452R mutant strain had been recorded earlier have to undergo compulsory testing. This also applies to those who have completed a COVID-19 vaccination course.
