Milwaukee’s Getting a New Night Market

The market will launch in July in the Deer District.

The Deer District will soon be home to a new night market starting July 28 at the Fiserv Forum plaza. Arthur Ircink, publisher of local food magazine Edible Milwaukee and creator of Emmy Award winning PBS show “Wisconsin Foodie,” put together the weekly event.

“I’m honored to bring my experience and connections to Deer District to create something new and exciting, building off of all the recent momentum in the district while supporting small business,” Ircink says.

Ircink was also one of the founders of Shorewood Farmers Market in Estabrook Park. He said he is interested in promoting a local food economy.

The market, which will take place Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m., will uplift minority-owned businesses with the goal of supplying the community with healthy, locally-produced food, as well as supporting small food businesses coming to the plaza this summer.

“Deer District Market will bring healthy nutritious options within walking distance to more of our community and promote a healthier lifestyle by offering nutritious food choices and education,” David Olson, Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, says.

Vendors can still sign up for the event, but there is limited availability. If interested, contact Arthur Ircink at arthur.ircink@gmail.com.
