England 70-14 Canada: Adam Radwan and Jamie Blamire score hat-tricks in big win

Newcastle duo Adam Radwan and Jamie Blamire both scored hat-tricks as England racked up 10 tries to thrash Canada at Twickenham.

Wing Radwan showed his electric pace to make a big impression on his debut, while hooker Blamire demonstrated his scoring prowess on his first start.

Joe Cokanasiga added two tries while man of the match Ellis Genge and a penalty try completed England's 10.

Marcus Smith kicked nine conversions as England finished their season in style.

The Harlequins star, who made his England debut in last week's win over the United States, then found out he had been called up to the British and Irish Lions squad when he was replaced towards the end of the game.

Blamire makes perfect start

With 12 regulars away with the Lions, Eddie Jones was looking for players to show they are ready to step up to a higher level, and Blamire did his best to catch the head coach's eye in the first minute.

The hooker, 23, rumbled over to touch down in the corner, having scored on his debut as a replacement last week.

Canada hit back through scrum-half Ross Braude, who powered through England's defence to bring the visitors level.

Two minutes later England's pack piled on the pressure to bring a penalty try as Canada collapsed a maul, and then the rapid Radwan came off his wing to sprint outside his defender and touch down in the corner.

Genge's burst through the middle of Canada's defence started a team move that ended with Cokanasiga - who also scored twice last week - dotting down in the corner.

Bath wing Cokanasiga followed that up moments later by battering past his defender to grab his second, bringing a big smile from Jones up in the stands.

England captain Lewis Ludlow was sent to the sin-bin for clumsily kneeing Canada's Jake Ilnicki in the head during a ruck.

And the visitors made the most of the extra man, shifting the ball nicely to send Kainoa Lloyd over.

An entertaining first half ended as it started with Blamire powering over from a maul for try number six.

Vice-captain Genge stormed over from a few yards out to bring up the seventh try and then 23-year-old Radwan notched his second after once again demonstrating his pace following a fine pass from debutant number eight Alex Dombrandt.

Blamire completed his hat-trick with his final act of the afternoon before being substituted.

Radwan took a high ball on the halfway line and accelerated away to bring up his hat-trick, with Smith converting again as England blew Canada away.

    Despite mismatch as Canada just not in same league, Eng new caps and some older very impressive. Radwan, Genge, Joe C, Steward, Randall and Smith all excellent. Smith deservedly got Lions call.

    Future looks really bright for England.

    Rugby and football.

    Remembering the days when we had trial matches between Probables and Possibles before selecting a side for the 5 nations ( yes it was that long ago), perhaps we should have a match between these lads and the old guard before next spring.
    At the very least, it might get some of the established internationals to up their game.

    I may be wrong, but I think Randall and Smith, plus Radwan and Cokanasiga, may be causing the present incumbents in their positions some worrying moments, even accepting that the US and Canada were not the strongest opposition

    Far too many needless penalties conceded against a poor Canada side. Adam Radwan doing what us Falcons fan’s know he can do. If he gets space he is gone and no one will catch him. But also able to use his speed well in defence

    Well done to England and Smith. Great stuff from the young Newcastle guys and genge. The only bad thing was England looked bad when Furbank came on at 10. He didn't have the positioning or the hands of a 10 and kept messing up passes and dropping the ball, not a 10 for internationals

    Having watched the game again, Eddie has to start thinking outside the box, or simply just thinking. There were some incredible performances by the new boys, and come the 6N, in readiness for the next world cup, he has to surely move away from some of the household names and bring these new, exciting and dynamic players into the fold; e.g., Radwan, Blamire, Dombrandt, to name a few. Go on Eddie!

There was a moment in the world cup game at Twickenham when 3 different Welsh players were carried off the pitch all at the same time. Luckily they had 3 back subs, and went on to knock England out of their own world cup! Ah well.

    Can’t believe the childish comments re. who should play or not biased football arrangements etc etc it was a game of rugby, that’s all, several players have shown what their about Genge Radwan Slade Cokanasiga with a smile on his face nice to see and congrats.to Marcus the only negative for me as has been mentioned was the constant inane commentary will someone please tell them ITS TELEVISION

    Hopefully we don't see Ewels and Ludlow in England shirts ever again. Ewels had more penalties than carries, both are staggeringly idiotic penalty machines and why Jones decided to make either captain is a mystery. Not good enough. The rest though, looking promising in a fair few positions. Lock is the only one where things look not so good once the current lot retire.

    One of the biggest positives other than Smith's last month of superlatives, has to be the return of Big Joe C.

    Frankly scary when in this mood. The American and Canadians just couldn't handle him, even when 4 or even 5 of them tried at once.
