6 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: July 9-11

Bucks at home, Gathering on the green and more this weekend in Milwaukee.

1. Immersive “Beyond Van Gogh” Exhibit 

WISCONSIN CENTER l ALL WEEKEND

The Milwaukee Van Gogh exhibit is officially open. The exhibit is a combination of motion, light and sound to illustrate a stunning portfolio of more than 300 artworks and a timeline of the tortured artist’s life. The exhibit breathes new life into his vast body of work through a digital medium that engages the senses. Tickets are available online 

2. “Art in the Park” 

RED ARROW PARK | ALL WEEKEND  

Now through Aug. 11, Art in the Park will bring local artists to “activate” Red Arrow Park. There will be live canvas painting and chalk murals at this spot as a part of the Jumps(ART) Downtown’s campaign to stimulate Downtown Milwaukee’s economy and to start adding new murals, temporary art installations and street performers into these outdoor spaces. Sara Bott, the first artist in the series will be painting in the park Friday until 2 p.m. Check back in on this event for new artists every week.

3. Gathering on the Green 

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | ROTARY PARK, MEQUON

Renowned artist, Trace Adkins, is coming to Mequon for his The Way I Wanna Go 2021 tour with special guest, Matt Wynn. Like the event suggests, gather on the green and enjoy Adkins as he brings country music to the Milwaukee area and sings some fan favorites. There will be a Battle of the Bands at 5:30 p.m. earlier in the evening and the Trace Adkins showtime will start at 8 p.m. 

4. Celebrate Women at Sugar Maple 

SATURDAY FROM NOON-5 P.M. | 441 E. LINCOLN AVE. 

Sugar Maple is hosting an event that celebrates women! Bring all the wonderful women in your life down to celebrate and grab a drink with your mom, friends or even your grandma. Join Milwaukee Girls Pint Out, Barley’s Angels and 1840 Brewing in collaboration as a part of the Love, Milwaukee project. There will be a Tots on the Street food truck from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and a feminine hygiene drive held all day long. 

5. Bucks at Home for Game 3 of the NBA Finals  

FISERV FORUM | SUNDAY, JULY 11-7 P.M.

This is the first time we’ve been here since 1974 so take advantage of this opportunity and head to the Deer District for Game 3 of the NBA Finals Series. Can’t make it to the game? No big deal, find a watch party or stay in and watch the broadcast in the comfort of your home as the Bucks play the Phoenix Suns this Sunday. 

6. Whitefish Bay Art Fest 

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | SILVER SPRING DRIVE

The festival will include original artworks at artist booths on the downtown district of the village on Silver Spring Drive. It features 100 artists from across the country with various art mediums for purchase such as ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography and more.
