1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing a big beer this week. Italian Drinking Chocolate Imperial Stout is brewed with cacao nibs, coffee, toasted hazelnuts and lactose and it weighs in at a hefty 12% ABV. Online presale begins at 9 a.m. with bottle release starting at 3 p.m.

Beer from Hofbräuhaus will be pouring over the weekend at a pop-up beer garden at Smolenski Park (438 S. Stuart Rd., Mt. Pleasant). The taps open at 3 p.m. on Friday.

I love this idea. The Milwaukee Brewers have declared that Friday’s game against the Rockies, which marks a return to 100% capacity, is Re-Opening Day 2021. Game time is at 3:10 p.m. Celebrate this return to normalcy with a great beer or two at a tailgate, in the stadium, or at home. Root, root, root for the home team.

Lakefront Brewery is having a release party for My Turn: Al American Stout at Leff’s Lucky Town (7208 W. State St.) from 5 to 9 p.m.

1840 Brewing’s traveling beer garden comes to Ackerman’s Grove (4875 County Hwy. Z, West Bend) from 4 to 9 p.m.

Try samples from The Fermentorium at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, June 26

The Wolf is back. The outstanding barrel-aged stout from 3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) will be available for pickup at the taproom at 11 a.m. Delicious options include The Wolf Barrel Select, a blend of some of the best barrels, is available in a 22-ounce bottle. Three variants—The Wolf: Barrel Blend; The Wolf: Pistachio, Cocoa Nibs and Vanilla; and The Wolf: Mexican Style Hot Chocolate—will be sold in cans.  Online ordering begins at 8 a.m.

Supermoon Beer Co. is opening the taps for the first time at its tiny brewery in Bay View (3145 S. Howell Ave.). Rob Brennan has released just six mixed-fermentation beers so far – all broadly in the saison/farmhouse/wild ale domain – so three new beers on tap are exciting. There’ll be Spells, a dry-hopped farmhouse blonde ale; Welkbier, an open-fermented witbier and Llife on Fars, a saison dry-hopped with Centennial. Also on tap will be Midbeam, a piquette-style farmhouse ale fermented with cherries and raspberries that was released this spring in bottles. Bottles of previous releases also will be available for purchase.

This Too Shall Pass Kveik NEIPA is made with Citra and Idaho 7 hops, and it’s available at both Fermentorium locations (7481 WI-60 Trunk, Cedarburg and 6933 W. North Ave.) on Saturday.

Head to Honey Creek Park (8405 W. National Ave., West Allis) from 2 to 9 p.m. to catch up with 1840 Brewing’s traveling beer garden.
