Vera Sidika: From sperm bank to God’s plan

When Standard Entertainment and Lifestyle spoke to Vera Sidika in 2018 on settling down, she indicated that she would like to get a baby via a sperm bank. At the time, she had just parted ways with her singer boyfriend Otile Brown.

Now she is heavy with a baby, and it has nothing to do with a sperm bank. The pregnancy is her husband’s – Brown Mauzo – to whom she got engaged in September last year.

“When I talked about thinking of getting sperm bank services, I think I had not factored what God’s will was. Covid-19 came and I could not travel to the US, then I got a boyfriend who turned my husband. Before I knew it we were talking about getting a baby. Now the baby is on the way,” Vera told Standard Entertainment and Lifestyle.

“At first, it was him (Brown Mauzo) who was pushing the baby idea. In January, we agreed on getting a baby and come Valentine’s Day, I conceived. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and the feeling is amazing,” she revealed.

The socialite turned businesswoman broke the news of her pregnancy this week

“We are pregnant and we couldn’t be more excited. We decided it was time to add an entertainment to our lil family. We’ve waited for some time, to share our lovely news. We are so excited for this bundle of joy to come into our life and to experience a love far beyond all measures,” Vera announced via social media.

“We are thankful that the Lord chose us to be this baby’s parents. @brownmauzo looks like we’ll be shopping for some tiny, little shoes soon. We will know the gender in a few days,” she added.

Vera dismissed critics arguing this could be another fake story.

“You can make things up but being pregnant is not the kind of thing you’d want to joke about. This is not a prank. Besides, I am happily married and married people make babies. We will be finding out the gender of the baby before the end of the week after which we will do the big reveal in July,” she said.
