Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has named Washington, D.C., partner Josh Lipshutz as the firm’s first chief operating officer as it expands its C-suite to support newly minted managing partner and chair Barbara Becker.

Becker took the reins of Gibson Dunn earlier in May, replacing longtime managing partner Ken Doran. Lipshutz, a litigator, will continue practicing but will focus on developing strategy as well as overseeing operations in his new role.
