Police, firefighters and paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 6:51 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 to a report of a motorcycle crash involving two or three other vehicles at the scene at Oakton Street and Sycamore Street in Des Plaines.
Police were first on the scene and began CPR to a motorcyclist down in the street. The motorcyclist was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with life threatening injuries by about 7:05 a.m.
A second ambulance was requested to respond to the scene for a medical release for one of the other drivers.
Oakton Street was closed for an extended crash investigation, and was re-opened by about 2:00 p.m.
