Kevin Stubblebine Joins WSP USA as Chief General Counsel

Former chief legal officer at the global environmental consulting firm Golder, a recent WSP acquisition, brings vast experience in engineering and construction law.

NEW YORK— Kevin Stubblebine has been appointed chief general counsel of WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

Stubblebine has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, construction and construction law. Since January 2016, he served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary with Golder, a global consulting firm that provides earth sciences and environmental consulting services. WSP acquired Golder in April.

“I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the executive leadership team at WSP USA. He brings a unique combination of legal and engineering experience to the role, and his appointment reflects the collaborative spirit that has already characterized our integration with Golder,” said Lou Cornell, president and chief executive officer at WSP USA.

Prior to joining Golder, Stubblebine was chief counsel for the design and consulting services group of a global engineering services firm. He previously served as vice president and division counsel of another global engineering, design and construction firm where he was responsible for all legal matters in the infrastructure and environment division. At that firm he also served as corporate counsel for anti-bribery/corruption compliance.

Stubblebine began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, spending the final three of his seven years as a registered professional engineer and design project manager. He then joined a regional architectural, engineering, planning and construction management firm, where he opened and managed a branch office that provided design and program management services. Stubblebine also practiced engineering and construction law with the Construction Practice Group of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP, where he represented owners, engineers and contractors.

He succeeds Stephen Dale in the role of general counsel at WSP. Dale is now serving as Southeast Region president for WSP.

Stubblebine holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in civil engineering from The George Washington University, and a juris doctorate degree from the Widener University School of Law.
